In 2011, Cotton Melody Productions was birthed in New Orleans, LA through the passion of Founder/CEO, Mr. Ishmael Cotton, to provide passionate Gospel music to the city of New Orleans. Cotton Melody Productions, also known as “CMP” mission is to “Provide God Pleasing Services for Creatives“. Therefore, from 2011-2019, Ishmael Cotton produced music for various New Orleans artists such as The Jones Sisters, Mr. Ronald Hadley, Mrs. Felicia E. Travis, and Mr. D.C. Cross. Throughout Ishmael’s ministerial experience and working in ministry, his passion grew for producing not only music but also events and showcases.
In 2017, Cotton Melody Productions hosted its first event, “ Ron Hadley and the Worship Squad: That’s Who You Are Single Release’. In 2019, CMP hosted its second production, “D.C. Cross: He Answers Me Single Release”. In 2020, as the Covid pandemic caused the world to shut down, CMP saw the lack of opportunities for local gospel artists to minister. In light of this, A.S.A- “ Artist Supporting Artists” virtual showcase was born.
A.S.A. launched during the COVID-19 pandemic as a platform for local gospel artists to minister and encourage viewers through live performances. It also served as an opportunity for the community to sow seed into them at a time when there was a lack of work for singers and musicians.
As much as CMP loved producing music for others, Ishmael Cotton followed the voice of God to produce CMP’s first live recording album entitled ReMinded. ReMinded features various artists throughout the southern Louisiana region. The purpose of this album is to provide music singles to the artists at no cost, and also produce inspiring music to remind the world of God’s goodness, love, and sacrifice for us all.
In anticipation of the album release, the first single, “Better” feat Vernon Byrd is available on all music media platforms. “Reminded” is anticipated to be released at the top of 2024.
With everything, pleasing God and producing excellence is always the goal. This includes our wonderful partnership with The Living Stone and A Chosen People. Together we desire to connect individuals, families, and communities to The Main Source (Jesus Christ) in and through the Ministry of Music and Community Outreach.
